2025-02-05 Version x.2.09 [Versa 2/3/4 & Sense 1/2]
Overview
This little app can save you if ever, even for a brief moment, you can't remember your exact PIN whether at a checkout, Bankomat, or online Don't block your card trying different codes on a reader, use the app instead to verify or find the correct PIN code. All data is saved in a secure area on the watch that only you have access to from the watch face. In addition to storing Card/Pin information it can be used to store any portable account/password profiles which may be used in multiple places and/or not necessarily saved in the browser Any other secure information can be stored as required. How does it work When you open the app the first time it will ask you to provide a secure access PIN (secure app PIN ) of your choice and to confirm it. You can make it as secure or as easy as you like
Next time you open the app you will be asked to enter the secure app PIN, you chose. ![]() Once entered correctly it will tell you. ![]() If you make a mistake it will ask again. Once the secure app PIN is entered correctly there are 3 options ============ 1) You can start entering information by tapping the red + key on the Keypad ![]() Click any field to go to the Keypad input mode ![]() tap any key to enter the value or the Del key to remove the last character tap the "abc" Shift key to change Keypad state ![]() the "abc" Shift key shows the next shift state. When a key has more than one value tap it multiple times to get the right value, use the Del key to make corrections. In abc mode one tap of 0 gives a space, second tap a ",". When finished tap the OK key to get back to the Item definition which shows the version at the bottom. ![]() You can accept with the Tick to update [item #1 in this case] or cancel with the X to make no change either way you will return to the Secure List view which can contain a maximum of 31 entries You can enter as much as information is useful. User/Account & Password can be used for portable login profiles if needed ============ ![]() 2) This view allows scrolling all the active entries swipe the display up or down to scroll Tap any active entry to see the full details [if there is more information] The dimmed entries are vacant slots To add more entries tap the red X to go to the Keypad view and then the red + key to add a new entry ============ 3) After entering your secure app PIN you can do a quick Search by entering some part of the PIN or item description. See these examples
To go to the full Secure List tap the OK key To Exit the app, press the watch back button. The app will end automatically after a few minutes of no use. Backup / Restore and security SimplePin is completely independent of any connections or phones or other apps which is a great advantage as it is always to hand and fully secure. The data cannot be accessed or hacked by others. As the data is confidential and precious it does need to be backed up. There is a process to do this securely. Any backup/restore operation requires the phone and watch to be syncing and SimplePin to be running on the watch. SimplePin provides a means to make an encrypted copy of the information stored on the watch and to restore it from it's Settings [in the Fitbit App, Gallery tile] which looks like this ![]() To perform a backup click on the Backup data field so it opens ![]() Click the data portion and Select all & Copy ![]() Paste the data in a safe retrieval place, such as Notes or Keep. To restore the data to the current or previous version, reverse the process. 1) retrieve the backup copy 2) open the Backup data for editing 3) remove the existing data 4) paste in the version from the copy 5) click Save to send it to the watch. A new backup is made after any change, providing the watch is syncing with the Fitbit App. If you are not sure you have the latest Backup data [Eg, changes made in SimplePin when the watch wasn't synced] then make open SimplePin and sync the watch Edit any item and Save it [no changes are necessary] Every time a Save is done a new Backup version is created and this will then be the latest data in the Backup data field Troubleshooting FAQ & tips
